Smart Export Guarantee Rates Update — Q2 2026

The latest Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) rates have been published for Q2 2026, and there are some notable changes that solar homeowners in Yorkshire should know about.

What Is the SEG?

The Smart Export Guarantee pays you for excess electricity you export back to the grid. It’s the successor to the old Feed-in Tariff and is available to all solar panel owners with an MCS-certified installation.

Key Changes This Quarter

Several suppliers have adjusted their rates:

  • Octopus Energy continues to lead with competitive rates
  • E.ON Next has introduced a new fixed-rate tariff for solar exporters
  • British Gas rates remain stable but below the market average

What This Means for You

If you’re on a variable SEG tariff, it’s worth checking whether you’re getting the best rate. The difference between the highest and lowest SEG rates can be significant over a year.

Not sure what rate you’re on? We can help you check and recommend the best option as part of any consultation.
